Brooke Newnham
This Month’s Energy Fitness Trainee of the Month Award goes to Brooke Newnham.
Brooke has been training with me for around 3 years now, starting off with PT sessions and then moving onto the group sessions where she has gone from strength to strength.
As a mother of 3 small children, she impresses me by always prioritising her exercise and working around her kids (if she doesn’t have them tagging along with her!) and has been a very consistent trainer at Energy Fitness, even taking out Most Consistent Trainer of 2015 this month.
Over the last 6 months she has made even further improvements after completing the Winter Meltdown Challenge and is now into her final 2 weeks of BeachFit. Some days she has been to BeachFit in the morning, and then backed up for a 9.15am class as well – with her daughter Isla tagging along too of course! She has energy overload!
The improvements in her fitness are huge this year, and she now has many others trying to keep up with her, the boys included. She has been one of the hardest working trainees this year. Not to mention she looks amazing!
Brooke encourages others at class and is also great at organising runs or get-togethers with others outside of class.
She has also competed in a few events over the years such as Nike She Runs the Night, The Woronora Dam Trail Run, Sri Chinmoy Half Dolls Point, WMC Half Marathon, The Big 50, and I’m sure there are some that I have missed over the years too!
Besides the 10 week challenges Brooke also regularly participates in the weekly Run Club and various other classes on the timetable, proving she has a great all-round fitness from her cross training.
What I also love about Brooke is her great attitude to her health and fitness/life balance. She didn’t want to do a BeachFit weigh in as she says she likes to train hard all week so she can let her hair down and enjoy the weekends – it’s not all about calories for her, it’s feeling good, being fit and strong, and still being able to enjoy life. The perfect balance.
Brooke loves to push herself hard, so is a fun person to train, and also train alongside. I think that she is just starting to warm up and 2016 will see great things from this lovely lady.
Well done on a great month and a great year – keep up the good work!
